Frequently Asked Questions
-We are often asked about some of our rental processes, which go above and beyond normal Airbnb or VRBO requirements. Below are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions-
- Why do I have to complete a renter agreement? It is our duty as property managers to take care of the properties we rent while ensuring a five star experience for our guests. We want to make sure that our rental policies are clearly presented to each renter and the number of guests in your party is compatible with the property. If we feel that the property is not suitable for your group size or make-up, we will try to help you find a more suitable property.
- Why do I have to submit a copy of my driver’s license? We want to verify that you meet our rental age requirement, and, to the best of our ability, verify that you are who you say you are.
- Why are you charging me a security deposit? At the time of your stay, we will place a hold on your credit card for a security deposit. No charge will go against your credit card unless there is damage to the property caused by your rental party. The hold will be removed as soon as housekeeping has inspected the property. This is the same process that is followed by most every hotel at guest check-in.
- Why do you charge a deposit as soon as I book? Why do you have such strict cancellation policies? Our vacation rental season in Alaska is very short, and properties are often booked a year in advance as travel plans are made. During peak fishing periods, properties can be very difficult to find. Our cancellation policy is designed to discourage people from booking our properties, holding them and then backing out at the last minute, causing financial loss to our property owners. Our cancellation policy and deposit policy encourages guests to be certain about their decisions and remain committed to them.
